Policies regarding Handling of Personal Information

Sony Digital Network Applications, Inc. (SDNA) manages all personal information provided by applicants in accordance with the provisions detailed hereunder. Unless otherwise provided, the interpretation of the terms in this document conform to the personal information laws of Japan.


(1)Name of the collector of the personal information
    Sony Digital Network Applications, Inc.


(2)Name of the user of the personal information
    Sony Digital Network Applications, Inc.


(3)Personal information to be collected
    1.Items of personal information provided by the applicant when submitting recruitment-related information
    2.Personal information provided by the applicant when sending inquiries to SDNA, including name, email
     caddress and telephone number etc.


(4)Purpose of use of personal information
SDNA uses personal information for the purposes stipulated in 1. hereunder. However, this does not apply to the exceptional cases stipulated in 2. hereunder.
    1.Purpose of the use
     (a)Communication with the applicant
        (e.g. information relating to interview times, notification of results of recruitment process);
     (b)Screening materials to ascertain if the applicant matches the recruitment requirements;
     (c)Statistical materials for future recruitment activities;
     (d)Basic materials for use in personnel management after a decision to recruit the applicant has been made.

    2.Exceptions
     (a)Cases in which the handling of personal information is based on laws and ordinances;
     (b)Cases in which the handling of personal information is necessary for the protection of the life, body,
       or property of an individual and in which it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person in question;
     (c)Cases in which the handling of personal information is specially necessary for improving public health
       or promoting the sound growth of children and in which it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person in
       question;
     (d)Cases in which the handling of personal information is required as part of cooperation with a state organ,
       a local government, or an individual or business operator commissioned by the aforementioned
       governmental bodies to execute the affairs prescribed by laws and ordinances and in which obtaining the
       consent of the person in question is likely to impede the execution of the affairs concerned.


(5)Distinction between personal information that is required and information that is provided voluntarily
All personal information is provided on optional voluntary basis, but if the necessary information is not provided, SDNA reserves the right to not respond to any inquiry.


(6)Rights of control by the individual over personal information provided
In the case that a request is made by the applicant to disclose or confirm the personal information that has been provided, after confirming the identity of the applicant in question, SDNA will respond promptly and within reason to confirm, correct, update or delete personal information provided by the applicant or repeal part of all of the agreement to use or disclose information.


(7)Security control measures relating to the handling of personal information and provision to third parties
SDNA will store all application information under a strict management structure within reason to ensure that it cannot be accessed inappropriately by third parties. SDNA will delete all personal information provided from the applicant when the purpose of use prescribed in preceding article (4) is fulfilled and it is deemed that the application information no longer needs to be stored. Except in the following cases, SDNA will not supply personal information to third parties without prior consent. However, this shall not apply to information that cannot be identified as that pertaining to a particular individual.
    1.In cases where in order to use information for the purposes described in the preceding article, it is necessary
       for SDNA to supply
       personal information to cooperating companies entrusted with SDNA affairs.
       (This information is entrusted to selected companies only after SDNA has certified that their security levels
       fulfill SDNA standards and after a contract has been signed, after which necessary and appropriate
       supervision is implemented.)
    2.In cases where due to corporate merger or other reasons, personal information is supplied to the successor
       company.
    3.In cases where there may be exceptions to preceding paragraph 2.

(9)Governing law and jurisdictional court
The use of this website and the interpretation and application of these Terms of Application shall, unless otherwise provided, be governed by the laws of Japan. Any and all disputes relating to the use of this website, shall, unless otherwise provided, be handled by Tokyo District Court as the exclusive agreement jurisdictional court of first instance.
