June 25th, 2013 Summer solstice

In Japan, the summer solstice occurs on June 21 this year. It is called "Geshi" in Japan. As you may know, it occurs on the day that has the longest period of daylight.

It's been rainy season in Tokyo and I haven't seen the sun for a couple of days. So I can't sense that it actually is coming soon.

It is said that the midnight sun occurs in high-latitude countries around the solstice. I wish to see the never-setting sun once in my lifetime!
