February, 28th, 2013 Framed pictures in larger size

Hi, it's Gokaichi. I made picture frames to add a twist to my article last summer, "Let's make a framed picture"

I think it looks better when you have small multiple page put together rather than one large page. If you were inspired by my post, make one yourself too, and let us know on Twitter. See you!

February 25th, 2013 Food in Hawaii

Hi everyone, it’s Aki. On my last post, I shared with you my pictures of Hawaii. On this post, I’d like to share with you more joy I found in Hawaii –the local food. Isn’t the discovery of unique local dishes a huge joy of traveling?

So, here are some pages of my “Food” album.

One of my favorite features of million moments is that a picture can be added to multiple albums simply by attaching multiple labels. The pictures above are in both my “Food” album and my “Travel” album.

Our tutorial for making an album can be found here:
Quick guide to million moments: Part 1 Let's create an album

February 18th, 2013 Trip dream came true

Hi everyone, it’s Aki. Do you recall my trip albums I shared with you last month? I really enjoy browsing the photos taken in places far away. I dream of visiting the places while turning the pages.

And at last, my trip dream came true. Please take a trip in your mind by browsing through my million moments album. I finally was able to visit Hawaii, not in my mind, but in real. I was invited to a wedding of my friend who lives there.

It was so nice to escape from freezing Tokyo.

If you live in Hawaii, the pictures above might not excite you. In such a case, please enjoy taking a “trip” to Macau or Taiwan.

February, 14th, 2013 Pitching million moments at SF Japan Night 2013

Hi, this is Gokaichi. We feel our million moments app needs to be recognized by more people around the world, but it isn't easy to get discovered when literally millions of apps are out there. So we joined a pitch contest in which the winner gains a trip to San Francisco and a chance to make a presentation to US tech media.

The result? We were able to make it to the semifinals. Unfortunately, we couldn't win the ticket to San Francisco this time, but the app was very well received by the judges. We'll keep up our good work and look forward to the next opportunity. See you!

February 12th, 2013 Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is coming, and I’m giving thoughts on what to prepare for that day. I don’t know how people in your country spend that day, but in Japan, women give chocolates, cookies or candies to their friends, family, colleagues, etc.

And this year, I’d like to e-mail this page to those who live in the distance.

The tutorial for sending a page via e-mail can be found here.

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone :)

February, 7th, 2013 Praying for good health for this year

Hi, this is Gokaichi. Have you ever heard of "Setsubun"? It is a traditional event in Japan to chase out evil spirit and pray for good health for that year. On the evening of the day, we yell, "Out with the ogre! In with the happiness!" while scattering parched soy beans inside and outside our homes. It may sound odd, but we seriously do it. (Laugh)

In most cases, fathers put on the mask of ogre and pretend to be evil spirit. And kids have fun throwing the beans while chasing the father. Well, in my case this year, I tried to be as agre-looking as possible as you can see here. The result? A big success. My son cried like crazy looking at me. We also have a tradition to eat a special sushi-roll called "Eho-maki"on that day. Eho means good and lucky direction and Maki means roll. We are supposed to face a specified good direction and eat without speaking. Aren't such traditions interesting? What are the unique traditions in your country? See you!

February 4th, 2013 The making of our demo video

Have you seen our demo video?

Today, I’d like to share with you the scenes of our video shooting using pages from my million moments album.

The movie has been viewed for more than 260 thousand times since it was posted in May 2012. Thank you all for watching it.

By the way, the father of the child does appear just a bit in the video. Can you find him?
